Certification & Socials

CompTIASecurity +

This Certification taught me the insight on Enterprise Security from physical security to Polices and Procedures. I learned what businesses could use to provide physical protection like access badges, billiards, and security cameras; they kept it general, which helps, as not all companies can afford the top-tier stuff. Next, we went into Digital security, where they discussed how to secure a business’s digital infrastructure, as some companies are cloud-focused and have no physical infrastructure. Next, we went through simple Policies and procedures that show how a business can be safe while still conducting the business it needs.

CompTIA Network+

This certification delved deep into Networking, starting with the 7-layer Network model, and then broke down each category (Physical, Data Link, Network, Transport, Session, Presentation, and Application). This was cool because you examined the corporate network Ideology. I walked through more hands-on labs, such as creating a network cable and choosing the desired wire formation between T568A and T568B, and ensuring I did the same on the other side; otherwise, it would not work. Next, we moved on to the subnet, which I spent a little time on because it was interesting to see how the entire internet communicates through this, and then the DNS system, which is a bit of a deal. Next, we went into wireless networks and how to secure each type of network.

CompTIA A+

I’ve completed my CompTIA A+ certification, which provided me with hands-on experience in building, repairing, and troubleshooting computers and mobile devices, including the installation of components such as RAM, hard drives, and motherboards. I learned to set up and secure networks, configure routers and switches, and troubleshoot connectivity issues using the OSI model and TCP/IP protocols. The certification covered the installation and management of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, including the use of command-line tools and the management of users and permissions. I developed skills in identifying and removing malware, implementing security best practices, and protecting data through encryption and proper backup procedures. I also learned professional IT operational procedures, including effective communication with customers, documentation practices, safety protocols, and systematic troubleshooting methodologies that have prepared me for help desk and technical support roles.
